AURORA iam spargit polum:
terris dies illabitur:
lucis resultat spiculum:
discedat omne lubricum.		 黎明初现，

诱惑远去，
光明在望；		 EACH dawn, that sprinkles
east with light As day o’er earth is gliding bright,
Bids dark things flee, and deeds of sin,
As morn’s bright rays their course begin.
Iam vana noctis decidant,
mentis reatus subruat,1
quicquid tenebris horridum
nox attulit culpae, cadat.		 夜的阴影消逝，
失足跌倒的人，
快速振作奋起，
恳求上主原谅。		 Like as night’s phantoms swift depart,
Let guilty thoughts forsake the heart;
And every ill, that darkness sought
Beneath its shade, come swift to naught.
Ut mane illud ultimum
quod praestolamur cernui,
in lucem nobis effluat,
dum hoc canore concrepat.2		 在这一周最末的清晨，

Which we with trembling hope await,
