6世紀的聖詩，在《羅馬日課經》中，用於一時禱（Prime）；在新禮，時辰祈禱之中，用於常年期第二和第四週禮拜四的晨禱（Lauds）。此聖詩也用於《莎霖日課》的一時禱。

心地纯洁向善， 排除恶念， 饮食有节制， 骄傲最可恶。 |
Would keep our inmost conscience pure; Our souls from folly would secure; Would bid us check the pride of sense With due and holy abstinence. |
使我内心 清洁真诚， 使我思想 能免愚蠢， 使我日常 节衣缩食， 藉能克服 肉体骄淫。 |

So we, when this new day is gone, And night in turn is drawing on, With conscience by the world unstained Shall praise rhis name for victory gained. |
待我既完 一天工作， 重新遇到 黑暗黄昏； 求使稳渡 试探路程， 能将荣耀 归我真神。 |
