本首聖詩歸於聖安波羅修，是九時禱的聖詩。九時禱，是羅馬一天的第九時辰，大約下午三點，也是基督死亡的時間。

RERUM, Deus, tenax vigor, immotus in te permanens1, lucis diurnae tempora successibus determinans,	生命有盘石， 永恒的上主， 时序虽常变， 祢的慈光， 却时常照耀万物。
Largire clarum vespere, quo vita numquam decidat, sed praemium mortis sacrae perennis instet gloria.	黄昏已近， 我心无所求， 只向往救主， 助佑我得到善终， 赐我永享天福。
Praesta, Pater piissime, Patrique compar Unice, cum Spiritu Paraclito regnans per omne saeculum. Amen.	圣父圣子圣神， 统治万有的上主， 不分大小先后， 万世万代， 同享荣福。阿们。

O GOD, creation’s secret force, Thyself unmoved, all motion’s source, Who from the morn till evening ray, Through all its changes guid’st the day:	上帝全能全力之王， 雖雲至逸無勞無苦。 仍管眾時循序而行， 從早發光直至日終。
Grant us, when this short life is past, The glorious evening that shall last, That, by a holy death attained, Eternal glory may be gained.	求以光照我生殘軀， 一生不被黑暗捆拘。 直到我等平安身亡， 直到我得永遠榮耀。
*O Father, that we ask be done, Through Jesus Christ, thine only Son; Who, with the Holy Ghost and thee, Doth live and reign eternally. Amen.	至聖上帝三位一體， 聖父聖靈與子合一。 上帝至上永遠為君， 我等所禱懇求應允。阿們。
